Research Collaborations

Staff of the School of Veterinary Science have broad research collaborations, both within and outside the University of Queensland and with both private and government institutions.

The School’s researchers have strong collaborations with UQ’s School of Agriculture and Food Sciences, School of Biological Sciences, School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences, School of Public Health, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation,  QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, and the UQ Diamantina Institute.  There are also strong collaborations with many Government departments, including State and Federal Departments of Agriculture, Health, and Environment.

Joint research projects

Many of our staff have joint research projects with academics in other Australian universities and research institutions, including the University of Sydney, University of Adelaide, University of Melbourne, University of Newcastle, Curtin University of Technology, Queensland University of Technology and CSIRO.

International collaborations

Internationally, our researchers collaborate with a breadth of universities and research institutions. Collaborators include researchers at Colorado State University, the University of Nottingham, Massey University, Royal Veterinary College, and the University of St Andrews. Staff in the School currently undertake research projects in a range of developed and developing countries, including Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, China, Indonesia, Brazil, with collaborators in research institutes and government departments in those countries.
