COVID-19 (coronavirus) advice: latest information

UQ VETS hospitals continue to be available for all of your animal's veterinary requirements with the health and wellbeing of our staff, students, clients and patients as our first priority.

We encourage you to call our friendly reception team to discuss your animal's individual circumstances and we have the following COVID related precautions we would like you to be aware of.

Please call ahead on 5351 5051 so that we can discuss your animal’s condition over the phone and determine the best plan of action.

  • If you live in a high-risk or locked down area our team will not be able to offer a site visit.

  • When you call we will triage the patient over the phone and collect as much history as possible before we arrive.

  • When our team arrives they will be wearing PPE and you may also be requested to wear a mask. If you do not have a mask our team can supply you with one.

  • If we visit your property, please have present only enough people required to restrain your animal – 1 to 2 people maximum.

  • If you are feeling unwell, please find a healthy person to meet us.

These precautionary measures are in effect as of January 12, 2021.

We continue to take the latest advice from the state and federal governments and their medical advisers.
