Swaid is a veterinarian who originally hails from Kashmir. Most recently, Swaid has worked at the University of Bristol and Queen’s University Belfast, where he has worked on a range of parasites and vector-borne pathogens. Swaid completed his PhD at the University of Bristol. His project produced the most extensive survey of ticks and tick-borne pathogens in dogs in the UK.
