Prof Clive Phillips recently travelled to Delhi for the 3rd Minding Animals Conference to present a plenary paper on the Animal Trade. The Minding Animals conference was a 7-day meeting of around 250 people involved in animal studies, animal welfare science, human-animal interactions and animals in literature and art. Clive gave a plenary paper on The Animal Trade, emphasising in particular how rapid increases in the trade to meet growing international demand for animal products are raising concerns about the welfare of the animals involved.
