The conference will feature two international speakers Megan Brashear and Elle Haskey, and special guest presenter Cat Walker, The Radio Vet Nurse.

Megan BrashearMegan Brashear

Megan graduated from Brigham Young University in 2000 with a BS in Animal Science with an emphasis in Veterinary Technology. Megan earned her CVT in Oregon and then in 2004 achieved a Veterinary Technician Specialty in Emergency and Critical Care.

Megan is the Small Animal Veterinary Nursing Manager at the Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital where she combines her passions for teaching, hands-on patient care, and team management.

Megan was named the PetPlan Veterinary Technician of the year in 2014, won Best Technician Case Report at both the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium and the North American Veterinary Conference, and was awarded the VMX  technician Speaker of the Year in 2017 and 2018. She has published veterinary technician and nursing articles in the United States, Canada, and the UK.

Megan is the current President of the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians and Nurses (AVECCTN).

Elle HaskeyElle Haskey

Elle graduated in 2008 from the University of Bristol with a BSc honours degree as a RVN. She moved to the Midlands where she worked in a mixed practice for 2 years before returning to the University of Bristol as Senior ICU nurse. Elle spent 4 years back at Bristol where she studied for and gained the VTS (ECC) qualification in 2012.

In 2013 Elle moved to London where she joined the Royal Veterinary College Emergency and Critical Care team where she is now Head ECC nurse. Elle is responsible for co-managing a team of 33 nurses who work within the emergency room and critical care unit. She has lectured internationally, written several articles and also contributed to book chapters. Elle is on the editorial committee for The Veterinary Nurse in addition to the committee for EVECCS and BSAVA.
